Dirk is the MVP

Dirk Nowitzki is the NBA's 2006-2007 Most Valuable Player, and I am so happy for him. I couldn't help but smile and be happy when I saw him with his trophy. I know, I've seen it only via the internet, and Youtube, which hadn't done downloading and I didn't finish Dirk's speech because of my very slow internet... Anyway I am happy when I saw his picture, because he seems happy somehow with his award. Good luck for him, and the Mavericks.

God bless us all and the Mavericks.

DIRK FOR MVP!!!

I am sure now, and I won't accuse myself of being too presumptuous again. I am sure, Dirk Nowitzki is MVP for regular season 2006-2007!!! No matter what those critics say!!! Go DIRK!!!

ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh

The Spurs won game 1 in their best-of-7 series.

Well whoever wins, I couldn't really be happy or sad, because I like both teams.

Though both teams have always been considered as Mavs' rivals, I can't say that I completely don't like them, unlike the Warriors...hmpf.

Anyway, I like the Spurs coz they are like brothers to the Mavs, being the neighboring team and all... The Suns, simply because of Steve. I really like his plays even before. Though I really like Dirk the most.

Well, may the best team win.. Whoever wins, I hope they face Golden State, and show them what they deserve...haha.. Texans will revenge for fellow Texans, or the other way around, the bestfriend will take charge.

Right now, I'm not really rooting for any specific team, since I really am so loyal to the Mavs...
Just be happy for whoever wins.

And wait til next year.

I hope Dirk's okay

I certainly hope so. I mean, with all this stuff goin' on, I hope he moves on, and still be a leader next season.

And I really really really really hope that Mark Cuban stands by what he says, that he wouldn't make MAJOR off-season moves, which means he is not planning to trade Dirk the or firing Coach Avery. I mean, it doesn't necessarily mean that because they lost, Dirk isn't capable of winning the Championship and so with Coach Avery. I think that Mavericks is a good team that doesn't really need a lot of changes. Well it came from Mark Cuban himself.

I still believe in Coach Avery and most of all, Dirk Nowitzki.

err..

Well it doesn't mean that because the Mavs lost, I'll stop bloggin now. Yeah the Mavs have been my life(sort of since April 22nd..haha) but of course I gotta move on. And I have a lot of things to do.

My school, man, it totally sucks. My final exam for art appreciation class would either be singing or dancing. How bad does it get?

*sigh*

Well, I don't think it is bad to be a die-hard fan, but you should know your limits. Remember you also have your own life to pay attention to.

Dirk Nowitzki is great, no matter what you people say

After agonizing over yesterday’s loss, I have no choice but to wait for at least 6 months to see the Mavs play again. And worse, probably 11 months before the playoffs. *sigh*

I’m glad that Mark Cuban said he won’t be trading Dirk. I am so glad to hear that.

I’ll still be a fan of the team. No matter what happens. As long as Dirk is there on the team, as a franchise player or not, I’ll root for the Mavericks.

I’ve liked him since, like, 6 years ago, when he wasn’t your next-door-superstar yet. Despite having Finley as their best player, I’ll go for Dirk, even over Steve. I saw a potential in Dirk, and from that day on I believed in him.

Anyway, since the playoffs began—actually I think since last year’s collapse of the Mavs to the Heat, Dirk has under been the spotlight. But not the positive one.
He’d been magnified to a million times, making his life more miserable then ever.

D-Wade wasn’t able to get his Heat past in the first round too, and his team didn’t even make the top seed in the East. But who criticized him?

NONE.

That’s because he’s a “superstar”. A guy who everybody wants to be on their Fave 5, maybe except for Charles Barkley and MC.

Those media guys, they make a story sound nastier than it really is. They’ve been saying all sorts of things about Dirk, that he should be traded, and he isn’t a real MVP, that he fooled all of us, and so on. They make him look like nothing but a piece of crap.

Fine, Dirk did choke in the playoffs, but come on, he’s done a lot of better things in the past. When someone good has done something that is not-so-good, people tend to forget all the good things that the person has done. And that’s what happened to Dirk.

Those media guys should realize that playing in this league is never easy, especially when you are away from home. And back in his home, people aren’t even as interested as us fans in basketball—they like football and soccer and Formula1 better.

I wish I were his friend, so I can help him make through this storms of criticism that is thrown at him right now. Dirk doesn’t really deserve so much of this. He has criticized himself too much already to even accept some nasty comments from everyone who doesn’t believe in him. I know, you must accept criticisms to help you get better, but I think this is too much. It’s like making buying a book for 10$ but telling it to your friend that you bought it for 100 bucks.

In short, those media guys are EXAGGERATING.

Can’t help but feel sorry for the guy. He’s just a guy who wanted to play basketball. Unfortunately, he can’t measure up to the “superstar” standards. He’s not one of those who appear on TV every now and then and endorse a pair of shoes and soda. In this bling-filled ballgame, he can’t be one of those guys who will be the face of this league. He doesn’t have the tattooes, bling-bling, so the American media can’t make him any better. If he does something good, they'll report it. If he does something not-so-good, they make it sound like he has put an end at the Mavericks' future.

In my opinion, they have become so overwhelmingly patriotic of their country that they have no more room for foreigners to appreciate.

Well Dirk, for me, you are still a great person, and your low-profile personality is I think what I like the most about you. Whatever those people say, I'll still be here, your number 1 fan, and will never fail to recognize how good you are, as a player and as a person. At least now you can be sure that not everybody in the world hates you, and you still have me as your friend.

GO DIRK!!!!!!!

Spring Break is here

The Spring Break for the Mavs finally came today. Maybe it won't be too bad.

Cuban said he had no plans of changing the team, or in ohter words trading Dirk, Jet, and J-Ho. Glad to hear that.

Nonetheless, I won't be one of those who will criticize Dirk. I won't put the blame on him. Really. Those media guys do it so that they can make up nasty stories that people will love to read but they don't consider the feelings of the player. I mean, duh? What if they were in Dirk's shoes, I bet they wouldn't even have scored a single field goal.

This is it

Whew.

I've been so nervous, since yesterday. Actually, it's been since the other day.

When the Mavs went 3-1, I couldn't help but get nervous every time I think of the whole series. Then, yesterday when I woke up at 6 am, the first thing that came across my mind was Game 5 of the GS-DAL series. I thought, Today is "Judgment Day", so Papa God, please help the Mavs...

God is so good, as He's always been, and helped the Mavs crawl out of the possible early dismissal. I told Him, Please help them to win this game. I haven't thought about game 6 too much until today. I didn't want to think about it too early. You see, I've already envisioned myself cheering for them in the Finals since, as far as I can remember, maybe when they were at their peak of their winning streak/s.

That's what is wrong, probably, because I was being too sure. I didn't take into consideration that the Mavs still have to face other teams even before reaching the Conference Finals, like the healthy Rockets, ever- stable and strong Spurs, and the hungry Suns. Of course, the Warriors weren't much in my mind, since they climbed their way to the Playoffs late this season. And NEVER did I think that they would be a real serious threat to the Mavs.

That's another mistake, underestimating them. I just remembered an old saying, that my brother mentioned last night, "In basketball, anything can happen. The ball is round."

True enough, when you think of it, the ball is indeed round, and a round shape has no sides. So, in other words, the ball, doesn't take sides. It doesn't care if the team had won 67 wins in the regular season. It doesn't care if the team has just found its way to the Playoffs late in the season and just because the former no. 8 lost a game or two. It doesn't give a damn care.

In this game, anything can happen. It's not enough that you won the most games. It's not enough assurance that the other team is going to win just because they had 27 more wins. In this game, the team which is the toughest- mentally and physically- gets the last laugh. And this time, I hope it's the Mavericks.

We'll all know the result by tomorrow, if there will be a game 7. Let's all hope there will be. It's the only way to get to the second round.

But in the meanwhile, let's all pray for Game 6. Let's hope the Mavs will come out victorious. Don't overlook it, because Game 6 is probably as critical as game 7(for the Mavs), since it will be on the road in front of the loud crowd of the Golden State Warriors.

I know the Warriors aren't gonna give up too, they are tough too. They are strong and confident, and maybe those are just some of the huge factors that helped them win three games against a no.1 seeded team that had 67 wins. They stood tall and proud.

But hey, this team will never give up. They already knew what their goal was in the first place, and that hasn't changed. We know that the Mavs never give up so easily. If they're gonna lose, they're gonna lose fighting up until the end. The home players on Thursday night(Friday morning here) aren't the only Warriors, but the visitors are'Warriors' as well.

Whatever happens,

GO MAVS!!!

Thank You, Dallas Mavericks

Dear Dirk,

I just wanna thank you, for givng me/us fans another hope. Personally, you've inspired me and made my day. Thanks for everything Dirk.

Yours Truly,
Kim

p.s. of course, thanks to the Mavericks roster too, Josh, Jet, Devin, Stack, evryone and Coach Avery. :-)

I respect the Warriors

Though I'm really beginning to hate them now, I must say, they're good. They were able to have a decent game against the Mavericks. Not just decent, but good games. So, whether what they're saying about the Mavs that they respect them or something, together with Nellie telliung us that his team is a bunch of Schmoes, whether they're true or not, well, I gotta say, they're damn good. And I applaud them for that.

I knew the Mavs wouldn't fail me

Yeah, and I'm so happy, and I hope the Mavs can steal a win in GS on game 6.

Well, whatever happens, GO MAVS!!!!:-)

Win it or lose it, GO MAVS!!! :-)
Wow, today was the best day so far in the last few weeks. I know I recently had my birthday, but the feeling I had today is different. It was undescribable.

For several days/weeks now, I've actually made the Mavs the center of my attention. Since I'm so bored to death at school, and it's so hot outside, I'd rather stay at home and watch their games.

I think it all started last March, when the Playoffs were drawing near. I'm excited, at the same time anxious. I was wondering how will I react if the Mavs lost in the series and not win the Championship this year. I was so sure they'd go all the way to the 7-game series in June.

Yeah, that was probably my fault. Not only me, but everyone who had been so overconfident, not realizing that it's not over yet, nor it has begun.

I don't blame all those people who had accused us(fans) of being so arrogant. Of course, I dunno in the case of the players themselves if they'd been overconfident too.

Anyway, this GS-DAL first-round series is probably the most exciting, tense, and, uhm, nerve-wrecking (the latter is for me) we've ever seen. A while ago, while watching the game on the internet ( actually not watching, just looking at the play-by-play feed from www.NBA.com), I was so nervous. It's like I'm about to jump on a high cliff. I was more nervous waiting for the new pbp data than when I was in the Debate contest.

After the box score displayed final, 118-112, I felt relieved. I felt so happy. I wanted to jump! I even punched the computer table at school(yeah I was in school) and the friend who was also surfing the net beside me. Man, I was so relieved. At least I would still have one game to look forward to.

When I read articles from the internet, I even cried at what I read. Seriously, I was touched by what Dirk said. It's like this: "I don't think I need to prove anything to myself."

You know, he's right. He's become aware that all people now are criticizing him, and his spotlight is a different one now. Maybe even some of the team's fans are doubting him now. But, there he is, coming out and not caring whatever those people say, especially the media. Those media make some stories, and even if it is true, they make it sound a lot nastier than it really is. It's like they're magnifying it 1000000000x. I really, really, really admire Dirk for that.

Here's another one: "Our guys are resilient, they have a lot of pride," Dallas coach Avery Johnson said. "We were able to finish, we were able to close out a game. When this team gets hot, it can be pretty special."

That's what I've longed for. The Mavericks that amazed me and still continues to. I've missed those comments from Coach Avery, because lately it looks like no one has something positive to tell about the team aside from me.

Do or Die

Hours later, we'll all know if the Mavs still have a chance of winning the series, or, if they're gonna go home early.

Clearly, they haven't been answering the Championship call, which was in the first place their main goal. Think about it, other teams enter the regular season with a Championship in mind, like the Heat aka defending Champs, Spurs, Pistons, Suns, and of course, the runners-up last June, the Mavs. Others have only playoffs in mind, like the Celtics. Timberwolves, Hornets, and the Warriors.

As for the Mavs, they answered that call with 67 wins. Impressive, right?

Or so everybody thought.

No one ever expected the Mavs to lose a first-rounder in the Playoffs-- or even worst, to DISAPPEAR. Yeah, they have gone. Everybody has no idea where they are, even themselves. So now, they aren't answering that call again. Maybe it's not from their Fave 5.

I read an article in http://www.star-telegram.com/308/story/86106.html, and I think it's right. Mark Cuban officially filed a case for missing persons with 67 wins, particularly the big German guy, who wears no. 41, sometimes white, sometimes blue, or at times green. His rather shorter Canadian bestfriend, who for probably everyone right now deserves the MVP award rather than the Deutsch guy, is in the hot desert of Phoenix, AZ, and is on his way to the next round with a 3-1 lead over their opponent, the Hollywood based Lakers.

Yeah, a lot of people has wanted to take back their ballots and replace the name Dirk Nowitzki with Steve Nash as their front-runner for MVP. I heard one yesterday, in the voice of Steve Kerr.

Anyway, I don't think it is all Dirk's fault, but he is sure the main reason. I don't want to blame him though. If I were his friend, I wouldn't tell him, "Hey, aren't you supposed to be MVP?"
I'll tell him, don't try to be someone else. Dirk is Dirk. Don't, as in DON'T-- let the Warriors get on your mind. I know it's not easy. But at least try. And just play as if this was the regular season, and as if they are ordinary players. The Warriors can look ordinary if only the Mavs could play like themselves, like the Dallas Mavericks that everybody's looking for right now.

If Dirk can get his game, others are likely to follow. Trust me, the impact of a star-player is different. He must bring that back, that impact. When he's great, everbody around him is doing better, that's when the "making your teammates better" comes in. That's why he is the MVP. The Dirk Nowitzki we all know.

Well, whatever happens, there is a reason. God has a reason for everything, and He knows what's best. Just think about it, if the Mavs aren't going to win it this year, God definitely has a better plan. I'm sure of that. Of course, I'm a believer, and I won't cease in believing.

Win or lose, I'll still be a true blue Mavericks fan. No regrets, no hard feelings for the team. GO MAVS!!!!
